Course Description:
The B1 course is ideal for learners who wish to work, study, or live in Germany. It deepens all language skills and emphasizes more independent communication. B1 is often the required level for visa applications, Ausbildung (vocational training), or work permits.
Topics include:
– Expressing opinions, experiences, and future plans
– Understanding work-related instructions and regulations
– Writing formal and informal letters/emails
– Reading and discussing news articles and short reports
– Grammar: subjunctive, relative clauses, passive voice
Goals:
Upon completion, students will be able to:
– Deal with most situations likely to arise while living or working in Germany
– Communicate clearly and simply on familiar and work-related topics
– Understand and write short texts with common vocabulary
– Prepare for the Goethe or telc B1 exams
